Afrobeats singer and the ‘Dakeda’ crooner, Rebecca Akosua Acheampomaa Acheampong, who is popular known as Becca, was caught up with Andy Dosty on “DayBreakHitz” to talk about her new single ” Yes I do” made some interesting comments about Ghanaians pertaining to the music industry.

According to her, Ghanaians reticent attitude towards reading is the reasons why they are not making a lot of money in music, and she was oblivious to the fact that people were making money off her by uploading her music on various online platforms.

She sighted a locus classicus with the case of Davido and Mr Eazi and how they put in much money in their craft to gain even more.

She said;

“We as Ghanaians are not putting money into pushing our music. When Davido releases a song on Apple Music, it comes with a banner. No matter what it is, you may be compelled to click on it. Even if Mr. Eazi does not play shows for a year, he would be okay with the money he makes off streams. Why? That guy is in your face. Let’s read. Ghanaians. That is something we do not really do.”
