Gramps Morgan who snagged 3 International Reggae and World Music Awards (IRAWMA) in 2010 for Best Song, Best New Entertainer, and Best Crossover Song and other musical accolades

2 Grammy Award Nominations and a Grammy Award Winning Producer will share in the hosting in hosting  the 38th International Reggae and World Music Awards on March 29th at the AC Marriott Hotel, Kingston, Jamaica.

Gramps begun his solo career on a high note by touring on India Arie’s Soulbird Tour. While remaining dedicated to conscious Roots Reggae & Lovers Rock, his mission to expand his horizons to new markets was a success. In a time when reggae music was in a state of dejection and dancehall lyrics were redundant, Gramps Morgan proved positive music can still top the charts; and did with Wash the Tears, the first single from his solo album, 2 Sides of My Heart Vol.1. The single earned Gramps at #1 on Canadian Reggae and Dancehall Charts (Radio Dubplate) for 3 consecutive weeks on CHRY 105.5 FM. Soon afterwards the single was charting simultaneously across the world. As composed, written and produced on his own label Dada Son Entertainment, the multi-dimensionality of Gramps Morgan was revealed. Visit www.irawma.com

Lila Ike’, reggae rising star, straight-shooting, free-spirited, yet easy-going singer who belts soulful tunes with a velvety smooth voice, and pastor/comedian Leighton Smith will also share in hosting the 2020 – 38th IRAWMA.

Born and raised in the cool hills of Manchester, Lila attended the Manchester High School where her love for music truly started to form.

Affectionately labeled the ‘class clown’, Lila was usually in the position where she would be asked to create jingles on spot for class presentations or just be caught in class ‘freestyling’ with her friends.

She’s cites influencers from a wide range of genres- from pop to lover’s rock to rhythm and blues. She even goes as far as to describe herself as an ‘old soul’- often channeling the soulful sounds of influencers like Garnet Silk, Whitney Houston, Alicia Keys and more. (By Reggaeville). Jamaican Comedian, Pastor and School Teacher, Leighton Smith, a 2020 – IRAWMA nominee for Comedian of the Year- 2019  He will be among the three emcees to anchor reggae and world music’s biggest night, the 38th IRAWMA.

When stand-up comedian Leighton Smith takes the stage, his audience is guaranteed a wide range of riveting satires. The stories are creatively worded, and, with clinical precision, they find the targeted funny bones. Smith’s very effective, non-expressive style is essential to his delivery. (Jamaica Gleaner).
