Ghanaian talented gospel singer Don Cemon originally known as Osei Simon was a guest on Akoma fm 87.9 flagship drive time program Kwantenpon drive on the segment Personality Chat hosted by Tony Best.

The “Bless Me” hit maker revealed to the host about his name Don Cemon and said it was given to him by the late Radio presenter De Markus because of his voice as he returns with a new single titled “Aseda. This is a single off his upcoming album Wonderful Jesus.

“I started doing music professionally at age twenty two (22) because as an Adventist my passion of doing music was inspired by Kyei Baffour, Mark Anim Yenkyi, Great Ampong and the likes. I thought it wise to also blend country music with Gospel to stay dynamic in the music industry and I write my songs to inspire everyone to believe God can bless you when trust in him.”

Growing up, I wanted to be like the renowned country musician George Straight, one of the finest country music performers because he sings to touch soul. To me every good gospel music must touch soul.

My first album was done in 2004 title “Som Nyame Yie” and release my second studio album was Bless me which was out in 2014 had thirteen (13) songs on the album. I am having almost hundred and twenty songs now yet to be release.

When he asked about the award won so far, Don Cemon told Tony best,

“I had four nominations in 2018 and won one award at the national Ghana gospel music awards “ best Gospel video” and 2019 too I have been nominated for national Ghana music awards”.
