It will be difficult for any artists to copy my style of Rap – Joe Frazier



Ghanaian rapper and businessman Joe Frazier was a guest on Kwantenpon Drive (personality chat) on Akoma fm 87.9 last Thursday hosted by Tony best.

The ace rapper who is officially known as kwadwo Agyen said his name Joe Frazier came by when he was in secondary school because of his enviable strength compared to renowned heavyweight boxer who defeated Mohammed Ali for the first time when he was undefeated is his boxing career. When Joe Frazier won the fight, my colleagues at our school started calling that name.

Joe Frazier who is Kumasi based artist has six albums to his credit told the host he started his music career in early 90’s and did recorded his first music through live band recording studio because there was no computer recording during doing our time. We used to play live band and if mistakes happen you Need to restart.

“I did my first song with Mary Agyapong at slip music titled “Atoofie” which was owned by Mark Okraku Mantey and then recorded with the late Kofi B “Yaa maame” which was massive hit”.

When the host Tony Best asked him about his rhyming prowess he said
“I’m undoubtedly the best rhymer in Ghana and my unique style has distinctly distinguished my rap style from my competitors and the kinds of videos I do are different, My style is so difficult to emulate and I think if you want to do my kind of songs you need to learn hard about rhyming because is very difficult to get words that sound the same, it needs creativity”.

Joe Frazier emphatically added now Nigeria can boast of almost ten 10 artists “A” list artist but Ghana has only four “A ” list Artist which are Sarkodie, Shatta wale Stonebwoy and kuami Eugene.

He also advised the current musician to learn “because during our time the competition was tight and had the likes of okraku mantey who will make you sure you put out quality music”.
